About

The Jeggpap is a Traditional New Orleans Jazzband from Belgium, founded in Dendermonde June 1962 by Bert Heuvinck. (picture on the right)

The name "JEGGPAP" originated from the first name initials of the six original band members. They held several tours in the Netherlands, England, Germany, Tenerife, Morocco and America. The band also participated in festivals at home and abroad: the Netherlands, England, Germany, France, Switzerland, Greece. "The Jeggpap" became the backing band of many top jazz musicians such as Kid Thomas Valentine, Albert Nicholas, Bud Freeman, Kid Sheik, Sammy Rimmington, Louis Nelson, Doctor John, Ann Smith, Benny Waters and so many more... The group performed in New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville in 1980 and became honorary citizens of the city of New Orleans. They have recorded 8 LPs under the direction of Bert Heuvinck.
